A Documentary Approach, Shot Mostly on 35mm Film

I photograph your day as it actually feels, real moments, real movement, and honest emotion. Mostly 35mm film, with calm guidance when you need it.

HOW IT WORKS

  • Once you inquire, we’ll schedule a quick discovery call. We’ll talk about your vision, the vibe of your day, and what matters most, so I can document it in a way that feels honest and true to you.

  • When you’re ready, a signed contract + retainer officially reserves your date. From there, we keep things simple, clear, and stress-free, so you can focus on the fun part: getting married.

  • Think of this as a relaxed warm-up before the wedding. We’ll shoot somewhere that feels like you, your neighborhood, the beach at sunset, the desert, or something totally offbeat. It’s the best way to get comfortable in front of the camera without feeling “posed.”
Complimentary couples session is included with 10 hours or more.

  • About a month before, we’ll finalize the timeline and photo priorities. I’ll coordinate with you and your planner/coordinator so the day flows naturally and you get the best light, without being pulled away from your people.

  • You stay present, I’ll document what’s real. I work photojournalistically, mostly on 35mm film, stepping in only when you need gentle guidance or when it helps the story. I’ll capture the big moments and the in-between ones you didn’t even see happening.

  • You’ll receive a small set of sneak peeks within 48 hours. Your full gallery arrives in 3–4 weeks—a curated time capsule of the day, the people, and the feeling you’ll want to come back to.

  • Your gallery comes in an easy-to-share link, with downloads and print ordering available for you and your family.

The Experience (No-Stiff-Posing)

If this sounds like your vibe, check your date.
  • Absolutely. Most of my couples say that at first. I’m great at helping you relax and feel like yourselves. I’ll give simple, natural guidance when you need it.

  • Very minimally. I’ll guide you into flattering light and give you something easy to do (walk, talk, hold hands, breathe). The goal is always natural movement and real connection—not “stand here and smile.”

  • I keep it simple and low-pressure. I’ll guide you with prompts and small actions, then step back and document what happens. Think: gentle direction + documentary coverage.

  • That’s exactly how I shoot. Most of the day is candid, and we’ll carve out a short, relaxed portrait window (often around golden hour). You’ll still get beautiful portraits, just without the long, awkward photo shoot.

  • Generally about 80% of your day is photographed on 35mm film. I’ll switch to digital when the light is too low for film or when I want to capture a few moments I can deliver quickly as sneak peeks.

  • Yes—when it helps the story. Film is my main medium, but digital is useful in very low light and for fast-paced moments where I don’t want to miss anything. It also lets me send sneak peeks quickly.

  • I don’t deliver negatives. You’ll receive beautifully edited, high-resolution scans in your online gallery, ready to download, share, and print.

  • Film is forgiving, but the dreamiest light is late afternoon into golden hour. That said—don’t stress. I can make great images in any lighting and I’ll help guide the timeline so it looks amazing.

35mm Film Coverage (How I Shoot)

Wedding collections begin at 3,825 $. Most couples invest between $4,800 - $6,500 for full-day coverage and engagement sessions.

Pricing + Collections

  • I offer three collections: 8 hours, 10 hours, and a weekend coverage option. All include film-focused coverage, curated editing, and an online gallery for download + sharing.

  • Yes, and I shoot engagement sessions on 35mm film as well. It’s also a great way to get comfortable in front of the camera before the wedding.

  • Yes. If you want a heavier film ratio—or even the entire wedding on film—we can build that into your coverage.

  • At the moment, I don’t offer traditional payment plans, but I do break payments into clear milestones (see booking details below).

  • To reserve your date, it’s a 50% retainer + signed contract. The remaining balance is split into 25% on the wedding day and 25% when your gallery is delivered.

  • Collaborative, honest, and straightforward. We're here to guide the process, bring ideas to the table, and keep things moving.

Planning + Locations

  • Yes. I’ll work with you and your coordinator to build a timeline that feels relaxed and gives you the best light, without taking you away from your guests all day.

  • We lean into it. Overcast light can look incredible, and rain can be cinematic and unforgettable. I’ll adapt and make something beautiful either way.

  • I have a list of favorites depending on your vibe, beach, city, desert, and Palm Springs classics (Casa Cody area, mid-century spots, open desert, etc.). Once I know your venue and style, I’ll suggest options.

  • Yes. I’ve worked with some great planners and photographed weddings at unique venues. Tell me your style and budget range and I’ll send a short list of recommendations.

Travel

  • Yes. I’m based in Los Angeles, but I photograph weddings on 35mm film throughout California and I’m available for out-of-state and international weddings too.

  • Yes, I’ve photographed weddings from San Diego up to San Francisco, including Joshua Tree, Malibu, and Santa Barbara.

  • Travel is included within 2 hours of Los Angeles. For anything beyond that, I’ll quote travel based on distance and days needed.

  • We’ll talk through location, number of events/days, and travel logistics. I’ll put everything in writing so it’s simple and clear.

Backup + Peace of Mind

  • It’s never happened, but I’m prepared. I’m part of a strong network of professional wedding photographers and can coordinate a trusted replacement (including film shooters) if there’s ever a true emergency.

  • Yes. I bring multiple camera bodies (film + digital), extra film, backup batteries, and redundant gear so nothing is left to chance.

  • Yes, fully insured.

  • Maybe! If I have, I’ll send you the closest gallery. If I haven’t, no problem, I’ll still walk in prepared and I can guide you on the best spots and light quickly.
